Background

Hi there, I'm Dr. Madie! As a local chiropractor, my mission is simple: to help everyone feel their best.

When I'm not in the treatment room, you can find me outdoors hiking, kayaking... or tasting the latest Finger Lakes wines. I'm a self-taught yogi of over 10 years and I often have my nose in a book. I'm always eager to talk about my latest read! I also love to draw and have a small art business with a focus on anatomy!

I'm so excited to bring my bubbly personality and unique treatment style to my hometown, Penn Yan.  I can't wait to connect with you and help you on your journey to wellness!

TreaTmenT Philosophy

What sets me apart as a chiropractor is my extensive focus on the soft tissue component of the musculoskeletal system. Unlike many chiropractors who often limit their appointments to 5-15 minutes, my sessions are 20 minutes long, allowing enough time to meet your needs. With the extra time, I can apply the best soft tissue modality suited for your complaint.

I ensure a comprehensive approach that not only addresses joint movement but also muscle and ligament health, which promotes faster and more effective healing. This commitment to a holistic and patient-centered approach makes my chiropractic care uniquely effective and, I believe, more beneficial.

EducaTion

Penn Yan Academy

Sep 2013 - June 2017

During high school I pursued a rigorous course load, including numerous advanced classes, to ready myself for college. Additionally, I dedicated all four years to learning Spanish, aiming to achieve fluency.

Now, as a graduate of Penn Yan Academy, I am thrilled to return to my hometown and establish my practice. I'm eager to provide care to my fellow Mustangs and to contribute to the health and well-being of my community!

Canisius College

Aug  2017 - May 2021

Throughout my undergraduate journey, I immersed myself in a diverse array of subjects, driven by a passion for understanding the human mind and body.

As a psychology major, I delved into the complexities of human behavior, exploring various theories and research methodologies. Complementing this, I pursued a minor in neuropsychology, diving deeper into the intricate workings of the brain and its impact on behavior and cognition.

I also embarked on a second major in Health & Wellness, recognizing the interconnectedness of physical and mental well-being. This dual emphasis allowed me to explore holistic approaches to health and develop a comprehensive understanding of wellness practices.

Parallel to my academic pursuits, I remained committed to my goal of achieving fluency in Spanish. I dedicated myself to mastering the intricacies of Spanish grammar, recognizing the importance of effective communication in today's interconnected world.

Northeast College of Health Sciences

Sep 2021 - Nov 2024

My journey through the Doctor of Chiropractic program at Northeast was nothing short of rigorous. Over the course of three and a half years , split into ten trimesters, I dove deep into the intricacies of anatomy, physiology, chemistry, and biomechanics, laying a solid foundation for understanding the complexities of the human body.

Throughout the program, I learned about pathologies across all body systems and sharpened my diagnostic skills to a high level of proficiency. This hands-on experience equipped me with the ability to accurately assess patient needs and confidently refer them to appropriate healthcare professionals when necessary.

From the second trimester onward, I immersed myself in the art and science of adjusting, honing my expertise and mastering safety protocols essential for delivering effective chiropractic care. The final year of the program is dedicated to gaining crucial clinical knowledge by treating patients in our outpatient facility. During that year, I worked with Dr. Timothy Whiting, who provided superior mentorship in preparation for practicing independently.

The program's commitment to depth of knowledge and practical experience has truly prepared me to excel in the field, empowering me to make a meaningful impact on patient health and well-being.
